CUSTOMER NEED
DBM's fifteen UK sites need to be in regular contact with each other. But with eleven different systems across the UK, there was no inter-site calling plan, meaning all calls had to go over the public network at full cost. Some of the systems themselves were out of date: not every employee had voicemail, for instance.
With its future strategy dependent on better communications, and an ongoing need to keep costs down, DBM recognised that it would benefit from a single supplier that could implement a new UK-wide communications platform and provide ongoing support.
NORTEL SOLUTION
One of DBM's current suppliers, recommended a solution based on the Nortel Business Communications Manager 400 , Nortel Business Communications Manager 50 and Nortel 1010 VPN Router . This would enable inter-site communication over DBM's existing IP network and provide the voice features that DBM's employees needed.
